Bring on the Rain!!!
3/22/24 Update:
We are beyond excited for what will be an amazing morning tomorrow at the Meriden Markham Airport!
The rain is coming but that will not stop us from giving our participants the best event we possibly can! There has been a lot of time and effort put into this event and we thank all of our amazing sponsors, supporters, and local staff who have come together to make this possible!
Tomorrow will be a day to remember!
Please read the following to get you prepared for a great morning:
***Before you leave the house!!!
- Pack a bag with a towel, change of clothes, and anything to keep you warm after your run!
Upon Arrival to the Airport:
- Parking will be located on the airport. If coming from Meriden, please travel past the main airport entrance and you will see the entrance on your right. From Wallingford, you will see the entrance on your left. Please follow the signs and volunteers will guide you into the parking area!
Please note: Arriving early is suggested as the road from Meriden will be closed as we near the start of the race!
The registration hangar and event grounds are a short walk from the parking lot.
We will have mulitple additonal tents for rain cover!
- Check in begins at 7:30am in our airport hangar!
*** Bag Check - we will be able to hold your bags at our registration table for those who do not want to walk back and forth to their cars! They will be safely secured and available for you at all times.
- The Kids fun run is about a half mile, fully on the runway and starts at 8:45am
- The 2024 Hartford HealthCare MidState Medical Center Run the Runway 5k begins at 9am
- Post race festivities include sponsor tables from Hartford HealthCare, GoNetSpeed, and the Green Deli will be selling breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches and drinks!
There will also be certificates for our kids finishers, post race refreshments, and more!
- Our awards ceremony will begin as soon as possible, once our participants have finished. Top 3 Male and Female get trophies and Top 3 Male and female in our 8 divisions get medals!
- The Meriden Running Club will have club gear on site and on sale for those interested and getting some awesome new spring workout attire!

Join us on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 for the 2024 Run The Runway 5k and Kids Fun Run at the Meriden Markham Airport, for a unique opportunity to run, jog, and walk on the runway! The 5K race route will begin on the Meriden Markham Runway and venture out into the beautiful South Meriden neighborhood, before safely landing back on the runway for what will be a fantastic finish!
Proceeds will benefit the Beat the Street Community Center and future airport improvements!

7:30am - Same Day Registration & Race Day Check-In Begins
8:45am - Kids Fun Run
9:00am - Run the Runway 5k

** T-Shirts guaranteed to 5K participants registered by March 8th, thereafter shirts will be subject to availability.
